Background
Zoey is a qualified teacher in Hong Kong. She is a Hong Kong born native Cantonese speaker and experienced in teaching Cantonese for primary school students to adults. She obtained her teacher license from The Education University of Hong Kong.
Before she started as a freelance teacher, she worked as a Cantonese teacher in local primary school. She taught foreign kids Cantonese. She designs her own teaching materials and aim to provide private Cantonese lesson for adult expats. She is professional in teaching expat at beginner’s level.
She is enthusiastic in teaching Cantonese. Her students included company manger, journalist, English teachers and expat alethic.

The Reason of becoming a Cantonese Teacher
Zoey develops her interest in learning
language since university. She likes learning Japanese and develop her
passion in learning Japanese culture and language while her university study. After she graduated, she went to Beijing and start her internship job. But she realize she can’t speak a single word in Mandarin. She started to learn Mandarin after her working internship in Beijing. She start to realizes how important is to communicate with the locals. After few years of work, she went to Japan alone and tried to experience how does it feel to be a beginner language learner.

Teaching Style
Zoey used to teach one to one class and just teach Cantonese. The lesson focus on speaking and listening rather than writing Chinese character. Which make the language easier to learn. She usually persuade students to talk with her in Cantonese. Which will give you more chance on practicing the language.
Usually, the lesson will be divided into few parts. First, vocabularies revision, which is so important in learning Cantonese. Second, will be reading designed conversation from daily life. Thirdly, practicing speaking with tutor and finish the class exercise.
In order to ensure the quality of teaching. The teaching material will be adjust with regard to the student’s level. Tailor made lesson materials will be prepare for your own learning needs. We can discuss about the teaching content and method together.

1. Lesson can be held at cafe, your home or your office.
2. Transportation fee is already included.

3. The hourly rate is $250 to $300. (the price is raised at 2018)
4. Lesson for adults only. (Kindergarten or primary school students will not be considered.)
5. We don’t accept late cancel. You still have to pay if you cancel at the day of the lesson. (Unless you can reschedule at the same week.)
6. Cancel with sick note is acceptable.
7. Please contact the teacher on every Saturday to confirm the lesson schedule.
